What is calisthenics?
Calisthenics is a multi-discipline dance sport that began during the Victorian Gold Rush.
Since then it has grown and evolved all across Australia into the competitive sport that is today.
Nowadays, classes combine skills such as dancing, simplified ballet, gymnastics, apparatus, figure marching and musical theatre all in the one class. Students range in age from 4 years old to 60+ and are grouped into teams according to their age.
About Twin City Calisthenics
Twin City Calisthenics is a local, not-for-profit club servicing Albury-Wodonga and the wider North East Border.
We opened in late 2016 after the closure of the long running Wodonga Calisthenics Academy, and offer classes to students 3yrs and over.
Our highly trained and enthusiastic coaches are accredited with the Australian Institute of Sport to ensure that all our students receive the most out of their time at calisthenics. You can find more about them on our Coaches page.
Classes and competitions
Classes are held weekly during Victorian school terms, commencing in February and culminating in November with a Presentation Night and End of Year Concert.
Students attend between 1-5 competitions (depending on the section) throughout Victoria during the August-October Competition Season
